Boar’s Head Brand Donates $100,000 to Breast Cancer Research
October 01, 2012 – Sarasota, Fla.
Boar’s Head Brand, a leading provider of premium delicatessen products, announced today its continued support in the battle against breast cancer. In 2012, Boar’s Head Provisions Co., Inc. is proud to donate $100,000 to Susan G. Komen for the Cure to fund research and help fulfill Susan G. Komen’s promise to save lives and end breast cancer forever.
In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, during October, Boar’s Head will donate an additional $1 for every new “like” on the official Boar’s Head Facebook page (up to $10,000) to Komen in support of breast cancer research.
“The fight against breast cancer is as important today as it was when we began funding research five years ago,” said RuthAnn LaMore, Director of Communications for Boar's Head Brand. “Breast cancer remains a leading cause of cancer death in women, and we’re proud to continue our support in the research to find the cures.”
2012 marks the fifth year of collaboration between Boar's Head and Komen. Since 2008, Boar’s Head has supported finding the cures for breast cancer by donating more than $500,000 to date. To remind consumers about the importance of breast cancer awareness, Boar’s Head also labeled its flagship EverRoast Oven Roasted Chicken Breast and Ovengold Roasted Breast of Turkey with the iconic Komen Running Ribbon for the month of October. These products can be found in thousands of delis across America.
