Boar’s Head commits $5 donation to the American Diabetes Association for every Diabetes Risk Test completed from March 27th to April 27th*

Boar’s Head_®, a leading provider of premium delicatessen products, today announced its commitment to driving diabetes awareness in support of the American Diabetes Association Alert Day – a one-day “wake-up call” on March 27^th encouraging Americans to take the Diabetes Risk Test, which determines one’s risk for developing type 2 diabetes.  Boar’s Head will donate $5 to the American Diabetes Association for every Diabetes Risk Test completed online at facebook.com/AmericanDiabetesAssociation from March 27 to April 27, 2012, up to $50,000.

Boar’s Head is dedicated to the fight to Stop Diabetes and has been an active supporter of the American Diabetes Association since 2008.  With the latest diabetes statistics revealing that one in three American adults are at high risk for developing type 2 diabetes, there is significant need to educate the public about diabetes awareness and prevention.  The Diabetes Risk Test takes less than a minute to complete and identifies people’s risk for developing type 2 diabetes by asking simple questions about weight, age, family history and other potential risk factors for diabetes.  Knowing your risk is the first step to preventing diabetes and Boar’s Head encourages people to take the Diabetes Risk Test.
