Boar’s Head Reaches Fundraising Goal for Susan G. Komen for the Cure in Less than a Week

2011 marks Boar’s Head fourth year of partnership to fight breast cancer
Boar’s Head Brand®, a proud national partner of Susan G. Komen for the Cure® since 2008, is pleased to announce that the company was able to raise $10,000 for breast cancer research in less than a week. Boar’s Head launched a campaign where it would donate $1 to Susan G. Komen, earmarked for breast cancer research, for every new ‘Like’ to the Boar’s Head Brand Facebook page. The company reached its target within six days of launching the campaign.
Due to the overwhelming response, Boar’s Head is extending its Facebook campaign to raise an additional $10,000 for the fight against breast cancer. Since 2008, Boar’s Head Brand has contributed over $400,000 to Komen. To remind consumers about the importance of breast cancer awareness, Boar’s Head Brand also labeled its flagship EverRoast® Oven Roasted Chicken Breast and Ovengold® Roasted Breast of Turkey with Komen’s iconic Running Ribbon for the month of October. These products can be found in thousands of delis across America.

Thanks in part to the contributions made by Komen, the federal government now devotes more than $900 million each year to breast cancer research, treatment and prevention (compared to $30 million in 1982).
