Sweet Slice® Ham Eggnog French Toast with Rum-Nut Syrup

Ingredients

Directions

  1. The night before serving, spread half the bread evenly with the cream cheese; add the ham and top with remaining bread.
  2. Cut sandwiches diagonally and place on a greased 8-inch baking pan.
  3. In a bowl, whisk the eggs with the eggnog; pour over the triangles.
  4. Cover and refrigerate.
  5. In the morning, cook the sandwiches on a hot griddle, browning both sides of each triangle, discarding any of the liquid left in the pan.
  6. Make the syrup by pouring the ham glaze in a small saucepan and cook over medium heat, stirring in the heavy cream to heat through, followed by the butter.
  7. Remove from heat; stir in the rum extract and pecans.
  8. Refrigerate and warm when ready to serve. The syrup will thicken as it cools.
