Brown the chicken sausage in a pan with olive oil.
After browning, remove from pan and add butter and flour to the pan.Stir to make a roux.
Add the onion and green pepper to the pan and saute until the onion is translucent.
Add thyme, tomatoes, bay leaves, chicken broth, rice and chicken sausage back to the pan.
Bring the mixture to a boil and cover and simmer for 25 minutes.
Allow to rest covered for 10 minutes before serving.
