Blazing Buffalo Chicken Sausage Jambalaya
Our Blazing Buffalo® All Natural Chicken Sausage touts an expert blend of cayenne pepper, paprika, and vinegar. For this homestyle favorite, simply slice and brown it in a pan to put it in a spicy homemade jambalaya that's bursting with flavor.
Ingredients
1pkg.
Boar's Head Blazing Buffalo® Chicken Sausage, grilled1tbsp
Olive Oil1tbsp
Butter1tbsp
All Purpose Flour1
Onion, diced1
Green pepper, diced1
Sprigs of fresh Thyme1can
Tomatoes, diced2
Bay Leaves2
Chicken broth2
RiceInstructions
- 01Brown the chicken sausage in a pan with olive oil.
- 02After browning, remove from pan and add butter and flour to the pan.Stir to make a roux.
- 03Add the onion and green pepper to the pan and saute until the onion is translucent.
- 04Add thyme, tomatoes, bay leaves, chicken broth, rice and chicken sausage back to the pan.
- 05Bring the mixture to a boil and cover and simmer for 25 minutes.
- 06Allow to rest covered for 10 minutes before serving.
- 07Garnish with chives and thyme.
