Blazing Buffalo Chicken Sausage Jambalaya

Our Blazing Buffalo® All Natural Chicken Sausage touts an expert blend of cayenne pepper, paprika, and vinegar. For this homestyle favorite, simply slice and brown it in a pan to put it in a spicy homemade jambalaya that's bursting with flavor.

Ingredients

Boar's Head Blazing Buffalo® Chicken Sausage, grilled
1tbsp
Olive Oil
1tbsp
Butter
1tbsp
All Purpose Flour
1
Onion, diced
1
Green pepper, diced
1
Sprigs of fresh Thyme
1can
Tomatoes, diced
2
Bay Leaves
2
Chicken broth
2
Rice
 
Chives, finely chopped

Instructions


  1. 01Brown the chicken sausage in a pan with olive oil.
  2. 02After browning, remove from pan and add butter and flour to the pan.Stir to make a roux.
  3. 03Add the onion and green pepper to the pan and saute until the onion is translucent.
  4. 04Add thyme, tomatoes, bay leaves, chicken broth, rice and chicken sausage back to the pan.
  5. 05Bring the mixture to a boil and cover and simmer for 25 minutes.
  6. 06Allow to rest covered for 10 minutes before serving.
  7. 07Garnish with chives and thyme.
