Donation marks third year of partnership to fight breast cancer
Boar's Head announced today the donation of $100,000 to Susan G. Komen for the Cure. The donation marks the third year of collaboration between Boar's Head, one of the nation's leading manufacturers of premium delicatessen meats and cheeses, and Susan G. Komen for the Cure in an effort to fight breast cancer.
"We're proud to support Susan G. Komen for the Cure," said RuthAnn LaMore, Director of Communications for Boar's Head. "Breast cancer impacts 1 in 8 women across the United States and Komen is at the forefront of fighting the disease. We consider it a privilege to be a part of that."
Thanks in part to the contributions made by Susan G. Komen for the Cure, the federal government now devotes more than $900 million each year to breast cancer research, treatment and prevention (compared to $30 million in 1982).
To remind consumers about the importance of breast cancer awareness, Boar's Head has labeled its flagship EverRoast Oven Roasted Chicken Breast and Ovengold Roasted Breast of Turkey with the iconic Susan G. Komen for the Cure pink running ribbon for the month of October. Boar's Head employees and Distributors also participate in Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure fundraising walks and runs in select markets across the country.
