SmokeMaster® Black Forest Ham Spaghetti with Broccoli Pesto
A riff on a traditional basil pesto that will have your family eating healthy without knowing it. Black pepper, lemon, garlic & chili are the perfect combination to pair with the chopped SmokeMaster® Beechwood Smoked Black Forest Ham!
Ingredients
1lb
Whole wheat spaghetti2cups
Shaved broccoli tops1tbsp
Extra Virgin Olive Oil3
Fresno Chili, minced1
Anchovy, minced1cup
Boar's Head Black Forest Beechwood Smoked Ham, diced1cup
English peas, blanched1lemon
Lemon juice1lemon
Lemon zest¼cup
Parmigiano Reggiano Cheese, gratedInstructions
- 01Heat a large pot of salted water on high. Once water is up to rolling boil, add pasta and cook until noodles are al dente. Strain and reserve.
- 02Very finely shave the tips of broccoli off each head so product resembles cous cous.
- 03Place sauté pan on burner and bring up to medium heat. Add 1 tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil to pan. Once oil is heated, add broccoli and sauté one or two minutes until it becomes vibrant green. Add in chiles, anchovy, salt and pepper. Cook for one minute. Toss in cooked pasta, ham and peas. Coat with pesto and add lemon juice and zest. Remove from heat and plate. Top with freshly grated Parmesan cheese.
