Sweet Slice® Uncured Ham & Cheddar Cheese Salad

Here’s an imaginative way to use Boar’s Head Boneless Smoked Sweet Slice® Uncured Ham. Pair it with our Canadian Cheddar Cheese, sweet blueberries and pistachio brittle to create a refreshingly flavorful salad.

Ingredients


 
Header, Pistachio Brittle
2cups
Refrigerated pie crust roll
1cup
Water
½cup
Light corn syrup
½tsp
Kosher Salt
2tbsp
Unsalted Butter
½tsp
Baking Soda
3cups
Salted pistachios, roasted
 
Header, Salad
6cups
Fresh Arugula
1cup
Blueberries
1cup
Boar's Head Aged Canadian Cheddar, crumbled
 
Vinaigrette salad dressing
 
Pistachio brittle

Instructions


  1. 01Header: Pistachio Brittle
  2. 02Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper and lightly coat a rubber spartula with cooking spray; set aside.
  3. 03In a medium saucepan, combine the sugar, water, corn syrup and salt. Bring to a rapid simmer over medium-high heat and cook until deep golden, about 20 to 25 minutes.
  4. 04Remove from heat. Stir in the butter, baking soda and pistachios.
  5. 05Continue to stir until the mixture is no longer bubbling and the caramel is smooth, about 1 minute.
  6. 06When sugar dissolves and color turns to a medium amber, remove from heat.
  7. 07Transfer to the prepared baking sheet and spread with rubber spatula that has been sprayed with non-stick cooking spray. Let cool until firm, about 15 minutes, then crush into pieces.
  8. 08Header: Salad
  9. 09In large bowl, combine the arugula, blueberries, cheddar, and vinaigrette dressing.
  10. 10Mix the salad and divide among four dishes.
  11. 11Sprinkle mixture with pistachio brittle.
