Sweet Slice® Uncured Ham & Cheddar Cheese Salad
Here’s an imaginative way to use Boar’s Head Boneless Smoked Sweet Slice® Uncured Ham. Pair it with our Canadian Cheddar Cheese, sweet blueberries and pistachio brittle to create a refreshingly flavorful salad.
Ingredients
2cups
Refrigerated pie crust roll1cup
Water½cup
Light corn syrup½tsp
Kosher Salt2tbsp
Unsalted Butter½tsp
Baking Soda3cups
Salted pistachios, roasted6cups
Fresh Arugula1cup
Blueberries1cup
Boar's Head Aged Canadian Cheddar, crumbled8slices

- 01Header: Pistachio Brittle
- 02Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper and lightly coat a rubber spartula with cooking spray; set aside.
- 03In a medium saucepan, combine the sugar, water, corn syrup and salt. Bring to a rapid simmer over medium-high heat and cook until deep golden, about 20 to 25 minutes.
- 04Remove from heat. Stir in the butter, baking soda and pistachios.
- 05Continue to stir until the mixture is no longer bubbling and the caramel is smooth, about 1 minute.
- 06When sugar dissolves and color turns to a medium amber, remove from heat.
- 07Transfer to the prepared baking sheet and spread with rubber spatula that has been sprayed with non-stick cooking spray. Let cool until firm, about 15 minutes, then crush into pieces.
- 08Header: Salad
- 09In large bowl, combine the arugula, blueberries, cheddar, and vinaigrette dressing.
- 10Mix the salad and divide among four dishes.
- 11Sprinkle mixture with pistachio brittle.
- 12Plate with Boar's Head Sweet Slice® Boneless Smoked Uncured Ham.
