In a small bowl, combine red onions and deli dressing. Set aside to marinate.
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.
Lay the pieces of ciabatta on a baking sheet, facing up. Generously drizzle the red onion vinaigrette over the bread, layering the red onions and basil on the top slice. On the bottom slice, layer the pepperoni, half of the provolone, roasted bell pepper strips, salami, the remaining provolone, and the prosciutto. Place in the oven just long enough to melt the cheese.
Remove from the oven and add the banana peppers and arugula, folding the top half of bread on top of the bottom half.
