Croque Madame Toasts
A Croque Madame sandwich reimagined for breakfast? Bien sûr. Take your creativity and taste buds on a journey with this beautiful combination of our Boar’s Head® Branded Deluxe Ham, creamy Guyere Cheese, and Delicatessen Style Mustard on toast; made complete with a drizzle of classic Béchamel sauce.
Instructions
Make the Béchamel Sauce:
- In a small sauce pan over medium heat, melt the butter.
- Add the flour and whisk constantly for 1 minute.
- Slowly whisk in the milk until smooth.
- Bring to a boil and cook until thickened, about 2-3 minutes.
- Remove from heat and season with nutmeg. Set aside.
Assemble the Toasts:
- Pan-fry each egg until over-easy. Set aside.
- Preheat the broiler. Spread mustard on one side of each slice of toast.
- Top each with a slice of cheese and ham.
- Place on a baking sheet and broil until the cheese melts and the ham edges begin to crisp, about 3 minutes.
- Top each toast with an over-easy egg and a drizzle of béchamel sauce.
- Serve and enjoy!
