Blackberry and Cream Cheese Danish

Ingredients


8oz
Boar’s Head® Cream Cheese, softened
1each
Dough (Crescent Rolls work well)
1cup
Granulated sugar
1tsp
Vanilla extract
1cup
Blackberries, Fresh (or any berry of choice), washed, dried, and de-stemmed
3tbsp
Header, Icing
1cup
Powdered Sugar
2tbsp
Heavy cream
1tsp
Vanilla extract

Instructions


  1. 01Preheat oven to 375° F.
  2. 02In a small bowl, combine cream cheese, sugar, flour and vanilla to create icing.
  3. 03Set aside.
  4. 04Open crescent roll dough and unroll, leaving crescents in rectangles.
  5. 05On an ungreased baking sheet, lay the crescent roll rectangles together, lining them up width-wise. The dough should be almost the entire length of a half sheet pan.
  6. 06Press edges together to even out edges and seal any holes.
  7. 07Cut 1/2" diagonal strips up each side of the dough.
  8. 08Carefully spread the cream cheese filling down the center of the dough to be about 3 inches wide. Top with the fresh blackberries.
  9. 09Fold the 1/2" dough pieces up over filling in a braided Pattern.
  10. 10Bake for 15 minutes or until filling is set and dough is baked and golden. Remove from oven and cool.
  11. 11Drizzle icing over cooled pastry.
