Blackberry and Cream Cheese Danish
Ingredients
8oz
Boar’s Head® Cream Cheese, softened1each
Dough (Crescent Rolls work well)1cup
Granulated sugar1tsp
Vanilla extract1cup
Blackberries, Fresh (or any berry of choice), washed, dried, and de-stemmed3tbsp
Header, Icing1cup
Powdered Sugar2tbsp
Heavy cream1tsp
Vanilla extractInstructions
- 01Preheat oven to 375° F.
- 02In a small bowl, combine cream cheese, sugar, flour and vanilla to create icing.
- 03Set aside.
- 04Open crescent roll dough and unroll, leaving crescents in rectangles.
- 05On an ungreased baking sheet, lay the crescent roll rectangles together, lining them up width-wise. The dough should be almost the entire length of a half sheet pan.
- 06Press edges together to even out edges and seal any holes.
- 07Cut 1/2" diagonal strips up each side of the dough.
- 08Carefully spread the cream cheese filling down the center of the dough to be about 3 inches wide. Top with the fresh blackberries.
- 09Fold the 1/2" dough pieces up over filling in a braided Pattern.
- 10Bake for 15 minutes or until filling is set and dough is baked and golden. Remove from oven and cool.
- 11Drizzle icing over cooled pastry.
- 12Cut and serve.
