Instructions

  1. For each creature, layer a slice of ham and a slice of cheese on top of one slice of bread.
  2. Add your favorite condiment to a second slice, and use it to top off the sandwich.
  3. Use a cookie cutter to cut your sandwich into a circle.
  4. Choose your creature, following the individual instructions below.
Owl Sandwich
  1. Make a circle sandwich using pumpernickel bread.
  2. Using a circle cutter, trim two half circles with the yellow cheese slices. Trim each of the half circles into a football shape by rounding off the straight edge.
  3. With the white cheese, cut two small circles for the eyes and one medium circle for the belly.
  4. Cut three small triangle shapes from the yellow cheddar for the eyes and beak.
  5. Finish by placing the yellow football-shaped pieces along either side to form wings, then add two raisin centers to the eyes.
Raccoon Sandwich
  1. Make a circle sandwich using white bread.
  2. Cut two triangles of pumpernickel bread, and tuck them along the top of the sandwich to form the ears.
  3. Cut a small, white cheese heart, and position it along the lower center edge of the circle sandwich.
  4. For the eyes, trim two teardrop pumpernickel pieces and two small football shapes from the white cheese. Place these pieces just above the white cheddar heart so their curved edges are just touching.
  5. Finish with two raisin eyes and a grape, trimmed in half, for the nose.
Fox Sandwich
  1. Make a circle sandwich using white bread.
  2. Cut a large yellow cheddar circle, and center it on top of the sandwich.
  3. Cut two yellow diamond shapes and two smaller, white diamond shapes. Layer the white diamond pieces on top of the yellow diamond pieces, and place along the top of the circle to form the ears.
  4. To shape the eyes, cut two small hearts from the white cheddar, trimming each heart in half to form a teardrop shape. Arrange these pieces along the lower edge of the circle so their points meet.
  5. Finish with two raisin eyes and a grape, trimmed in half, for the nose.
Hedgehog Sandwich
  1. Make a circle sandwich using pumpernickel bread.
  2. Cut a small heart shape from the white cheese and a small circle from the yellow cheese.
  3. Place the pieces as pictured on top of the sandwich.
  4. Add two raisin eyes. Trim a grape in half lengthwise, and place on the bottom point of the heart to form a nose.
  5. To form the hedgehog's quills, use a pairing knife to cut small triangles from the yellow cheese, tucking between the layers of the sandwich.
